Why Hawaii...

Why Hawaii?

Why indeed...here's a few thoughts then...

Imagine a thread of some 132 islands, arching gently like a crescent moon, over 1600 miles long and set like sparkling jewels in an aquamarine sea.

If you're looking for adventure, seeking a closer relationship with nature, or you just want to chill and recharge, Hawaii offers you the best of everything.

The ultimate playground, the islands of Hawaii boast a range of activities on both land and sea.

Things to give you the vacation of a lifetime.

Memory evoking activities such as surfing, hiking, snorkeling, golf, big-game fishing, whale-watching, swimming, horse-back riding, scuba-diving, helicopter tours and more, much more...and, of course, a welcome you'll just love!

Think also of how you can experience the incredible beauty of these lush tropical, paradise islands and do it in luxury and style, well, a Hawaiian Cruise must be just for you.

Maybe that answers 'Why Hawaii?' for you - a little, so let's dig a bit deeper?

  • Hawaii describes these islands, one of which, of course is Hawaii itself. Not to mention the other key islands you will see and maybe even visit on your journey.
  • Hawaii is the only island state of the US and, in fact, the southernmost state in the United States.
  • Hawaii consists of the Hawaiian Islands located near the center of the northern Pacific Ocean, 2000 miles from any land mass.
  • There are eight main islands, which from east to west are Hawaii, Maui, Kahoolawe, Lanai, Molokai, Oahu, Kauai, and Niihau and 124 tiny islets, reefs, and shoals, most of whom are totally inhabited.
  • Honolulu is the capital and largest city of Hawaii.

Known lovingly as the Aloha State after becoming the 50th state of the United States in 1959, these islands are almost wholly of volcanic origin. With the varied scenery in Hawaii also including mountains rising to more than 13,000 feet above sea level.

You can imagine these volcanic tips, which show just above sea-level, as the very caps of majestic mountains, rising from the depths of the seabed below.

Yet with lush vegetation, plenty of rainfall (especially in Hilo, the wettest place in the whole United States), white sandy beaches, towering cliffs, brilliantly colored canyons, thick rain forests and arid desert, this place is truly a vision of paradise on earth.

In addition to the still active volcanoes of Hawaii (including one on the island of Maui, three on the island of Hawaii, and a recently discovered submarine volcano, Loihi, about 35 km (about 20 mi) southeast of the island of Hawaii), there are cascading rainbows of waterfalls and the most amazing beaches in the world for any water sport that you could imagine.
